Love Island USA season 5 winner Marco Donatelli shares exclusively with Screen Rant why he was disappointed over being baited by Casa Amor.

Love Island USA season 5 may have found its winners in Marco Donatelli and Hannah Wright, but Marco is still feeling some resentment surrounding the show's Casa Amor week twist. Meeting just days into the Love Island USA process, Marco and Hannah hit it off quickly and coupled up within the first week of being in the villa. After a few weeks together, the pair had to face Love Island USA's Casa Amor week, where the original Islanders split off from their partners to live with separate groups of male and female bombshells. This tested their relationships and potentially created new connections.

During an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Marco shared that he felt "baited" by Love Island USA season 5's Casa Amor week, explaining, “Casa was a roller coaster for me...I didn’t like Casa Amor, I didn’t like what happened to me.” When Marco's ex-girlfriend Hannah Ortega was set up to meet him, Marco was duped into believing he'd be getting a date with Hannah Wright. “[When I told] the boys, they were all baited in [thinking I was going to see Hannah], but we all know Love Island at that moment [was tricking us]," Marco explained, still feeling some irritation from the wool being pulled over his eyes.

Although Marco handled the situation well, he admitted that he wasn't happy to see his ex enter the Love Island USA villa. “I was not impressed,” Marco explained, continuing, “I wasn’t feeling it. It wasn’t something I wanted to happen. It was an ex-situationship, not even a girlfriend, but I’ve got to give it to her–she capitalized on the opportunity she had.” Marco added that though his ex's presence was meant to sway him away from the Hannah he'd chosen, "I knew...I wasn’t going to turn my head, we were closed off [from other connections]...I [was] really inspired by the love I created with Hannah."

Though Marco and Hannah were split up for the duration of Casa Amor week, with all the temptation in the Love Island USA season 5 villas, the couple remained strong. Hannah, who shared about her excitement over Casa Amor week, felt it would be a great way for the couple to strengthen their bond. Now, having won the summer's grand prize and left the villa to rejoin the real world, Marco and Hannah are hopeful for the future. Rather than focusing on what happened in their past, the pair is looking forward together.

With Love Island USA season 5 coming to a close, watching Hannah and Marco's relationship develop has been a privilege. From their early meeting in the villa to seeing them overcome obstacles as a couple, Hannah and Marco's bond has been exciting and sweet to see unfold. While Marco held some resentment towards Love Island USA season 5 for putting him in a difficult situation, it seems like he's happy with the way things have panned out with his current relationship.
